- New research from The Migraine Trust highlights devastating financial and mental health impact of long waits to access migraine care. Read their full report here: ‘The cost of waiting: ow the migraine treatment gap is failing patients’- The Migraine Trust
- In June 2026, PSPA published the findings from a survey of 650 people living with PSP and CDB and their family carers. Read their report, ‘The experiences of people living with PSP & CBD: Findings from PSPA’s 2025 survey’, along with a comprehensive list of system recommendations at: PSPA- Survey Report 2025.
- In March 2026, MS Society published a UK-wide consensus statement for people living with progressive neurological conditions, ‘Thriving Not Surviving: A right to neurorehabilitation‘, supported by NAoS, the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, RCSLT, British Society of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine, The British Psychological Society, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, and more third sector organisations supporting people with progressive neurological conditions.
- Glasgow FND Awareness Support have published a resource for paramedics on recognising and managing functional seizures and paralysis. You can downlaod the resource here: FND for Paramedics.
- The Brain Tumour Charity has published a report in March 2026, ‘Unlocking Innovation for Brain Tumours in the UK’. The report highlights how governments and regulators across the UK can better enable the development, approval, and adoption of innovations for rarer and complex conditions – which includes brain tumours - across the health system. It also highlights the impact a lack of innovation has on patients themselves with data provided exclusively from GoFundMe for this report indicating that 1 in 10 brain tumour fundraisers on the platform specifically mention seeking medical intervention overseas.
- The MSA Trust has launched a multiple system atrophy (MSA) healthcare professional training programme, developed in collaboration with the Neurology Academy. Find out more here.
- The Brain Tumour Charity has published a report in January 2026, ‘The Cost of a Brain Tumour: The Economic Case for Urgent Action’. The report uncovers the true financial impact of a brain tumour, highlighting the wider impact a brain tumour diagnosis has – not just to the person individually as well as their family and loved ones but to wider society and the economy too
- A new report from The Migraine Trust has revealed that people’s experience of migraine, one of the world’s most disabling neurological conditions, is shaped not just by their symptoms, but by their gender, ethnicity and social background. The report, ‘The Migraine Divide How gender, ethnicity and social grade impact experience of migraine in the workplace, in healthcare and day to day life’ was published in January 2026.
- PSPA has awarded two research grants totalling £48,100 to scientists at the University of Edinburgh. These grants will support studies aimed at better understanding Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a complex and life-limiting neurological condition, so it can be diagnosed faster and targets for future treatments are established. - The British Polio Fellowship have published their Optimal Clinical Pathway , setting out what good treatment, care and support looks like for polio survivors.
- The Migraine Trust, Migraine hurts in many ways beyond the physical pain report, published September 2024. The Migraine Trust surveyed 2,028 people with the condition and found high numbers report not being believed or taken seriously, including in employment and when accessing healthcare. Despite so many people experiencing migraine, the condition is poorly understood. A key theme throughout the research was migraine being dismissed or invalidated, with many respondents referring to migraine being mischaracterised as ‘just a headache’.
- Parkinson’s UK: Scotland Can’t Wait report, published January 2024. Their report looks at how well health and social care services are doing for people with Parkinson’s in Scotland. It covers 3 areas which need action: workforce, mental health, and time critical medication. They’ve made more than 26 recommendations for service improvements in Scotland.
- NeuroLifeNow, a research arm of NAoS’ member the Brain and Spine Foundation, has released its September- October insights report. This report was drawn from a series of surveys that looked at the impact of NHS strikes, concerns going into winter, and the general impact of neurological conditions on a person’s life. - Epilepsy Scotland, Epilepsy on the Mind report published June 2023
- FND Hope published their 2021 impact report in September 2022 reflecting on the incredible work they have done to support people with FND
- The Migraine Trust published a report called “Dismissed for too long: the impact of migraine on children and young people” in September 2022, to coincide with Migraine Awareness Week
- The MS Society published a report called Neurology Now: The case for a new approach to neurology services, in November 2021
- The Migraine Trust released a report on the impact of underinvestment into Migraine and patchy access to specialist care, at the start of September 2021
- Epilepsy Scotland released an Epilepsy and Covid Lived Experience Report at the end of April 2021
