National Neurological Advisory Group July 2013 Update

The most recent meeting of the National Neurological Advisory Group took place on 17 April and focused down to consider the work streams of the group. It has been agreed that these will be:

Person Centred - this group will audit pathways already out there for patients, professionals and their carers. This will be included in a mid Year Review of the NHS Neurological Improvement Plans in July 2013.

A second patient survey will also be considered in order to gather peoples experiences of service delivery.

Condition Specific– within this work stream there will be a commitment to work across the conditions in a co-ordinated way. The work stream will begin with MS and Parkinson's Disease in the 1st year as recommended by HIS at the end of the implementation phase.

Health and Social Care Integration (HSCI) will also be a focus and the Convener along with the Project Co-ordinator will speak with members of the NNAG / OMG and Neurological Voices to bring together individuals who can help shape work for this group.
