Big Lottery Award for Bobath Scotland

Bobath Scotland has recently been awarded funding over five years, from the Big Lottery Investing in Communities programme, for their Right Start programme.

Right Start will support 125 young children with cerebral palsy between two and six years of age as they make the complex transition from nursery to school. The Right Start project, based in Glasgow, will support families across Scotland, including developing outreach in Dumfries and Galloway, Aberdeen and Lothian. We will be sharing news here as the project develops and look forward to working with children and their families at this important time as they move from the home to the school environment, helping to ensure these children have the best start to their school lives.

The project will include new online and printed resources, virtual sessions with therapists, as well as Bobath therapy blocks to ensure every child has the information and ongoing support they need to reach their goals regardless of where they live in Scotland.

Chief Executive of Bobath Scotland, Stephanie Fraser said; "This is the best news we could have hoped for. Bobath Scotland Cerebral Palsy Therapy Centre seeks to help people from all over Scotland living with cerebral palsy at key stages in their lives. The grant towards the Right Start project allows us to develop services strategically for this vital transition stage and enables us to support families in areas other than just those within reach of our centre in Glasgow. We can't wait to get started!"
