Aims of the Alliance
Mission statement
We support people with neurological conditions in Scotland in living the best life possible through influencing policy, raising awareness and developing services.
We aim to do this in three ways:
1/ To
influence public policy in order to achieve the best outcomes for people affected by neurological conditions.
- We will identify high standards of care and lobby decision makers in developing these standards across Scotland.
- We will lobby for equality of care for all.
2/ To
raise awareness of neurological conditions in Scotland and their impact.
- We will work to facilitate access to information on neurological conditions.
- We will work to counter discrimination and stigma associated with neurological conditions.
- We will work to ensure people affected by neurological conditions are informed about their conditions and rights.
3/ To work closely with our
member organisations, key stakeholders, healthcare professionals, national and local Government and others to improve the overall care of people affected by neurological conditions.
- We will promote excellence in the training of healthcare staff in the diagnosis and management of neurological conditions.
- We will encourage appropriate research.
